Please meet your Coaches for this breaking season! We are so grateful to our youth coaches who uphold strong values of mentorship as well as the love of dance! Here at Dancing Turtle we feel that this dance is all about our youth and learning from one another to build skills.

Coach Check-It (Co-Founder & Executive Director)

Hi! I am Coach Check-It. I am the founder and co-owner of The Dancing Turtle. I have been dancing for 33 years and have been teaching the Art of Breaking for 26 years. Our studio was established in 2015. We teach the art of breaking but beyond that we are building community, friendship, confidence and values that will positively impact young people in their lives! We know it takes a village to support our children and spaces like the one at Dancing Turtle are highly needed for our youth.

Coach Check-It teaches advanced level classes, Teens & oversees all DT Coaches!

Coach Soula (Co-Founder & Senior Director of Programs)

Hi! I am so excited to teach the Tiny Turtles how to break! I have been an early childhood educator for 20 years working in a variety of settings. My passion is to teach children how to move, find joy and self-confidence through the amazing art of breaking! I have been dancing since I could walk but officially started breaking in 2001! I love this dance because it allows me to be myself and keeps me active! I also could not imagine being a part of any other community that holds me so much and feels like family. I am co-owner and handle all the registration and logistics here at Dancing Turtle!

Coach Soula teaches the 11 am/ 12 pm/ 1pm Tiny Turtle classes!
